When I got to a stage I could do all the rounds, finish all the exercises, I was quite chuffed!
Why do you do group fitness?
I feel motivated in a group environment led by a coach. When I was left to my own devices in a gym, without an instructor, boredom would set in, I’d lose interest and give up. There’s huge variety in each workout, the classes are challenging, no two classes are the same, I love that, an hour long workout goes by very quickly.
What keeps you coming back for more?
Numerous reasons, firstly the physical benefits, I also really like having a consistent exercise schedule that fits in my daily routine, the class formats keep me motivated & interested, it’s a good way to clear your head, it’s fun, the social factor, there’s great craic with the other members in the group.
Quite happy to work away without complaint on most exercises :-)
Least favourite exercise:
Not a fan of the bar hang. The lap around Londis too is a bit cringe, more so with one or two kettle-bells, or carrying a 5kg wall ball, any bit of speed you might have is impeded.. Onlookers enjoy it though..
